They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Burrawang Easter Market 2012
A "once in 20 years" picture perfect Autumn Easter Saturday saw our biggest and most successful Easter Market ever! Thousands of people flocked to Burrawang to enjoy the fabulous array of goods on display. The 2012 market was full this year with 141 stalls (43 new) with the most diverse range of goods from local food & produce, fashion, antiques and everything in between.
The School hosted rides, food and rest facilities as well as a magic show that was enjoyed by all.
Local produce and food stalls were a highlight this year, showcasing all the wonders that we have to offer in the Southern Highlands.
Given that the market is only organised by a handful of local residents who generously give up their time for the good of community, it is a credit to them that this year was such a success. Stalls are already being booked for 2013 with the popularity of our local Easter Market growing by the year. A special congratulations goes to our School of Arts Committee Members Gary and Simone who worked so hard to make the market the fabulous day it was as well as the generous efforts of Phil Lavers and the School P & C who arranged the traffic control & parking.
See you all next year!

Trivia Night 2012
Over 130 people attended this years Trivia Night held last Saturday night in the Burrawang School of Arts. Teams sat down to their own drinks and nibbles and answered over 80 questions covering topics such as sport, Geography, local knowledge and general trivia put together by Geoff Goodfellow the wonderful Quiz master.
Prizes were awarded for best table name, impromptu performance, lucky seat prize, raffle and of course first and last places. The competition was very close this year with 3 teams all on equal scores coming into the final round and a tie breaker question to decide the ultimate winning team!
It's always wonderful seeing the community rally together for the School to raise money for the heating of the main hall for the future winters ahead. Thanks to all who came and supported the night and joined in on the fun. Those that missed out, be sure to mark it in your diaries for next year!

Village Christmas Party 2011
The only thing missing from the Village Christmas Party hosted by the School of Arts this year was some snow! We had almost 130 people braving the wet, misty and chilly summery conditions on Sunday 4th December (it was just 5 degrees!) for a chance to come and wish everyone a Merry Christmas, share a drink and eat a sausage in true Southern Highlands festive style.
There was even a Christmas carol and a few hits on the jukebox for all the kids to have a dance to!
The tireless efforts of the Committee Members saw the Hall looking very festive for the event as well as some tasty home made food for everyone to get stuck into.
It was a lovely chance for everyone to come together at the end of the year and celebrate this special time of the year together as a Community. The School of Arts was very generous to host a free community event like this and all the hard work behind the scenes to put it together were not forgotten by all who enjoyed the night.
A very Merry Christmas to everyone in Burrawang and the surrounds who support this wonderful community and a huge thank you to the Committee members of the School of Arts for putting together another wonderful event. Here's to many more in 2012!
